Shipping Options

SmartWorld (SW) offers five options for shipping your products. Each one of these options are choices you can make for individual products or all products in your store. Please refer to the Vendor Guide for assistance with these Shipping Properties settings or drop us a line at info@smartworldmarket.com

Option #1 - Customer pays for Shipping - Vendor uses our label and shipping account

  1. SW has an integrated shipping system using USPS and FedEx. Everything ships from our master account.
  2. Once products are in the cart, it calculates the cost of shipping for the customer and presents a variety of options, starting with the lowest cost option first.
  3. The customer selects their shipping method and completes the sale. An email is sent (an email address you designate) notifying you of a sale.
  4. Your fulfillment center can log in to your account and print the packing slip and the shipping label, affix it to the package and ship it.
  5. Everything is recorded in our system. An email is sent to the customer with the tracking number, automatically. The order information is retrievable in our system at any time.
  6. The proceeds of the sale, minus shipping, minus our commission and PayPal's 2.9% + $.30 is sent to you via PayPal instantly after the sale.
  7. The cost of shipping is paid by the customer. The shipping proceeds are split from the sale and sent automatically into our account to pay the shipper.

Option #2 - Free Shipping - Vendor pays for shipping

You can designate Free Shipping for any or all products. The words "Free Shipping" will appear below the price of the product.

(We would ultimately like to see every product offered with Free Shipping if possible.)

  1. The customer sees the Free Shipping option (but may elect to pay more for overnight shipping).
  2. The sale is completed. An email is sent notifying you of a sale.
  3. You or your fulfillment center can log in to your account, click on the order, print the packing slip and the shipping label (using our label and shipping account), affix it to the package and ship it.
  4. Everything is recorded in our system. An email is sent to the customer with the tracking number, automatically. The order information is retrievable in our system at any time.
  5. The cost of shipping is paid by you. The shipping proceeds are split from the sale and sent automatically into our account to pay the shipper.
  6. The proceeds of the sale, minus the shipping cost, minus our commission, and PayPal's 2.9% + $.30, is sent to you via PayPal instantly after the sale.

Option #3 - Free Shipping by Purchase Amount - Vendor pays for shipping

You can designate Free Shipping by Purchase Amount for all products. (Selecting this option overrides all other shipping options for all products.) The words "Free Shipping over $____" will appear below the price of the product.

You can set any purchase amount to trigger Free Shipping. Once the amount has been triggered:

  1. The customer sees the Free Shipping option (but may elect to pay more for overnight shipping).
  2. The sale is completed. An email is sent to your corporate account or your fulfillment center notifying you of a sale.
  3. Your fulfillment center can log in to your account and print the packing slip and the shipping label, affix it to the package and ship it.

Option #4 - In-House Fulfillment - Vendor is Responsible for shipping

You may select In-House Fulfillment for any product. This selection is useful if you have third party fulfillment such as Amazon shipping. All SW shipping methods using our USPS and FedEx accounts are automatically disabled when selected. Your current method of shipping is preserved.

  1. With In-House Fulfillment, in your Admin dashboard, you have two options which are determined by filling in either $0 or some amount over $0. (We can explain this and walk you through it if you need help) Also, you may choose exclusion zones to only allow purchasing from customers in certain states.
    1. If $0, Free Shipping will show under the price of every product.
    2. If over $0, a Flat Rate Shipping amount of your choice will display on the check-out page as the cost of shipping.
  2. The sale is completed. An email is sent to your fulfillment center notifying you of a sale.
  3. Your fulfillment manager can log in to your account and update the shipping status, including inputting a tracking number. When that information is saved, an email is sent to the customer automatically.
  4. The cost of shipping is paid by you. All proceeds from the sale, minus our commission and minus PayPal's fees, are sent to you instantly after the sale.

Option #5 - Flat Rate Shipping for All Products - Customer pays shipping

You may select a single Flat Rate that is the only shipping charge for all products. With this selection, a Priority Mail label will be created from our Master account with USPS. This is for products weighing less than 70 lbs. If the package weighs more than 70 lbs, it will ship via FedEx Ground.

  1. The customer sees (and pays) the Flat Rate shipping amount (but may elect to pay more for overnight shipping).
  2. The sale is completed. An email is sent to your fulfillment center notifying you of a sale.
  3. Your fulfillment center can log in to your account and print the packing slip and the shipping label, affix it to the package and ship it.
  4. Everything is recorded in our system. An email is sent to the customer with the tracking number, automatically. The order information is retrievable in our system at any time.
  5. The cost of shipping is paid by you. Depending on the cost of the label, the Flat Rate shipping charge you elect to charge the customer may or may not cover the cost of the label. Our system will automatically calculate whether we deduct an amount over and above the Flat Rate shipping amount or whether we send the difference to you if the Flat Rate amount is greater than the cost of the shipping label.
  6. The proceeds of the sale, minus the shipping cost, minus our commission, and PayPal's 2.9% + $.30, plus the cost of the Flat Rate Shipping amount, is sent to you via PayPal instantly after the sale.
