Malnutrition is one of the 3 chronic problems facing humans today. Functional mushrooms address malnutrition.
This carefully selected 9 mushroom blend contain a complete nuitrition solution consisting of proteins, minerals, vitamins, carbohydrates, fats, bio-active compounds and digestable enzymes.
Mushrooms are very low in calories and contain significant amounts of dietary fiber. They provide both macronutrients and micronutrients in quantities not usually found in vegetables. In some respects, mushrooms actually have more similarities to meat than to vegetables, all without adding fat, cholesterol or sodium to the diet.
This blend is harvested from the mycelium
The blend is harvested from the mycelium, the root structure of the mushroom. Each cubic inch of soil contains up to 8 miles of mycelium. The mycelium is a subterranean network of microscopic hyphae, spread throughout the soil like neurons, and communicating similar to the human brain. The way humans have eaten mushrooms throughout history has been the much less potent sex organ of the mushroom that is visible above the soil.
The mycelium is grown on a gluten free organic oat substrate with the husks intact. Harvesting from the mycelium rather than the sex organ increases the potency of the mushrooms. This mycelium harvested blend allows for the full capture of the 2,000-4,000 enzymes and other bio-active compounds that the mushrooms make.
Mushrooms enhance the immune system
The healing properties of mushrooms have been known by the scientific community for a long time. Mushrooms have been shown to possess powerful anti-tumor, anti-cancer, anti-mutagenic,
anti-viral and anti-bacterial properties. They are known to be strong modulators of the human
immune system. They strengthen our immune system’s action against attacks of infectious agents and are also useful in treating autoimmune disorders such as allergies, asthma, arthritis and some types of diabetes.
Plarr's medicinal mushroom master blen
This proprietary blend comes from rare strains of various species from around the world. The chemicals found in several species of the blend are regarded as biological response modifiers (adaptogens). This means that:
1. they cause no harm and place no additional stress on the body;
2. they help the body to adapt to various environmental and biological stresses; and
3. they exert a non-specific action on the body, supporting some or all of the major systems, including the nervous, hormonal and immune systems, as well as regulatory functions.
Mushrooms work against cancer cells
Mushrooms contain specialized lectins (ABL) that recognize cancer cells, and prevent the cells from growing and dividing. Mushroom phytochemicals enhance the activity of natural killer cells, which are specialized immune cells that attack and destroy virus-infected and cancerous cells. Mushrooms are unique in their breast cancer preventing (anti-aromatase) effects Frequent consumption of mushrooms has been shown to decrease the risk of breast cancer by 64%. Mushrooms are thought to protect against breast cancer particularly because they inhibit an enzyme called aromatase, which produces estrogen. Mushrooms are one of the very few foods (pomegranates are another) that inhibit aromatase.
How these mushrooms are grown
The mushroom mycelium are grown on a gluten free organic oat substrate with the husks intact using a proprietary process known as Solid State Fermentation. This allows for the full capture of the 2-4,000 enzymes and other bio-active compounds that the mushrooms make. The mushrooms are grown in an FDA approved clean room environment. They are fully licensed inspected cGMP (current Good Manufacturing Practices). Few manufacturers of mushrooms are GMP and much less are cGMP.
