JKosmmune
Ann Son, founder and president of JKosmmune, began her career in the fashion industry in her native South Korea. As the team leader of a group of make-up artists and stylists working with a television broadcast crew, she saw her clients struggling with complexion problems. She, too, suffered from her share of them, including dryness, pigmentation, and rapid ageing effect. These conditions worsened after she and her husband, Richard J. Kang, Ph.D., moved to the United Kingdom, then to the United States, for his scientific career. The changes in environment and exposure to new pollutants had a negative impact on Mrs. Son’s skin. She spent thousands of dollars on expensive creams from such noted brands as La Mer, La Prairie, Clé de Peau, and Sisley trying to solve her complexion issues. But nothing worked. Searching for a cure, she approached her husband, the founder of JK BioPharma Solutions, Inc., for help. KonaRed
THERE IS A FIRE DEEP WITHIN US. A passion that calls us to embrace each moment, each day, and one another with gratitude and respect. It is a mindfulness of purpose and place. Like molten rock, it courses through everything we do. And manifests something bigger: A family of like-spirited people determined to reach higher. We are KonaRed®. Crafters of the world’s premier Hawaiian coffee products. And the first to harness the healthy benefits of coffee fruit, the succulent, antioxidant-rich berry that enrobes the Kona coffee bean. Our berries and beans are harvested by hand from coffee plants grown on the western, windless slopes of Hawaii’s Hualalai and Mauna Loa mountains. In the cradle of the Kona Coast. Where rich volcanic soil conspires with slants of morning sun and the shade of midday clouds—a paradise within a paradise. The Hawaiian Islands. They are the only place in the U.S. where commercial coffee grows. The most isolated archipelago on Earth. And home to all we hold close. For this, and for all... More
Landcrafted Food
Grayson County farmland has been in Gary Mitchell’s family for seven generations. An entrepreneurial spirit, and a dedication to farm preservation and animal husbandry, runs deep. At thirteen years old, Gary’s daughter Mary borrowed money to purchase cows for her school 4H project. Lucas, Gary’s son, took on a three-year loan to buy his first five cows. Through a family effort, the Mitchells have created a mindful, thriving farm business that provides them the opportunity to produce wholesome, grass-fed beef for our customers. Just over the hill, Charlotte Hanes purchased her farm twenty-five years ago, with the vision of creating a model of local sustainability for the surrounding community. In 2007, the Ivey family, Brantley and Whitney, joined forces with Charlotte to build a scalable, yet ecologically sustainable enterprise. While the Iveys have only been in Grayson County for a short time, they are excited to raise their kids on the farm, as they help Landcrafted Food build for the future.... More
