As the owner of Cafe Kreyol, I’ve experienced life at it’s darkest. From homelessness and not knowing where my next meal would come from, to even years behind bars. In 2012 I set out with a new heart and a strong desire to initiate redemptive change in Haiti. Using my survival skills and a few non-accredited business skills I had picked up along the way, to help others who lived in a similar hopelessness to what I once experienced myself. Once there, I bought a motorcycle, and scouted out what remained of Haitian coffee farmers. In the 1960's Haiti actually produced over half the entire world's coffee supply. Due to dictators, deforestation, and endless natural disasters, they now produce less than 1%. Slowly learning the language, I began to share my vision of sustainable employment with local growers, and Cafe Kreyol was born.

Our Mission

We adhere strictly to Direct Trade practices which is now the backbone of our mission. We believe that quality and sustainability are symbiotic. We believe farmers should get paid based on the quality of their product. We practice that belief by paying up to 300% higher wages than what Fair Trade requires for truly exceptional coffee. We are just as committed to our clients as our farmers. And as part of that commitment, we vow to be transparent. Our coffee is 100% traceable throughout it’s entire journey to your cup. If you would like to know how, just inquire with us and we would be happy to share. Today we have expanded our operations to several other countries including the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Brazil, Colombia, Bolivia, and Honduras. Our story continues as we work to alleviate poverty in rural coffee growing regions, one cup at a time.
